One of the highlights of the School of Congregational Development is gathering to pray, sing, and learn in our worship and plenary sessions. On Thursday, Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson will start us off with worship and Communion as she focuses on the theme of this year's event, "At the Lord's Table."
That evening, Nadia Bolz-Weber, noted speaker and pastor, will talk on "Who Is Welcome at the Table?"
F. Douglas Powe, Jr., author and professor at Wesley Seminary, will team up with Michael T. McQueen, pastor of St. James UMC in Atlanta, to focus on discipleship as they address the topic of "Setting the Table" on Friday morning.
On Saturday morning, Brian Combs, pastor of the Haywood Street Congregation in Ashville, NC will be joined by Gary Shockley's sand art demonstration as they look at hospitality in the talk on "Feasting at the Table."
Daniel Shin, Assistant Professor of Theology and Evangelism at ITC in Atlanta, will speak on "Expanding the Table" as he talks about the house church movement on Saturday afternoon.
